Rosario is a brazalette-score. It’s a tactile piece, built in clay, wood and plastic, with the thread in latex.
Dedicated to Puertorrican poet Yarisa Colón Torres, after a long conversation in New York City last Springtime on the Catholic rosary, the Buddhist mala or the Greek komboloi, all of them methods to get to a trance through a repeated hand movement, usually accompanied by a vocal sequence (repetitive too).
She recommended me to read the book The Way of the Rose, written by Clark Strand and Perdita Finn, a couple who lives in Woodstock (State of NY). Our conversation and the book inspired me to create the piece.
